Great experiences and well organized!Matjaž of Green Adventures organized 3 wildly different and interesting activities for us in December 2025 in the greater Novo Mestro area, Slovenia, based upon our families interests: sportive, culinary nature lovers. All three activities were highly personal, fun and interesting. Matjaž had also selected good accomodations for us and is easy to communicate with. I highly recommand Green Adventures. What we did: 1) Vineyard eBiking tour. The local bike guide quickly gazed our experience level (Dutch daily flat-land bikers) and selected nice routes through the snow covered landscape around Grad Otocec. We finished at a small farm with a rich lunch of home-made traditional food and wine and great conversations. 2). Ethno Experience. In an authentic setting, a couple demonstrated the traditional ways of life and clothmaking in the white-country. We then transfered to the warmth of their home area where we prepared our own tasty flat-bread, learned a beautifull way to decorate eggs and talked a lot about agriculture and nature over a nicely prepared warm lunch. 3). Into the Wild. Here we were transferred again to a different area and met a knowledgeable, well-traveled, now local, nature-guide and photographer. We had a great time kayaking on the Temenica river. Matjaž and Pedro took great care of us both before and during the trip. Everything was planned and adjusted to our preferences. Our package included a hotel, guided fishing and fishing licences. Our expectations were high, but the service was able to go beyond them. We booked a one day fishing trip for 5 on the Krka River including pick up from our apartment and lunch included at the Krka River Lodge. It was a challenge accommodating all of our gear needs and we had 4 novices in the group. Overall a great day with two very patient and experienced guides. Everyone caught fish with a couple very nice fish mixed in. The lunch was spectacular and everyone enjoyed including the cold beer. NEPOZABNO DOŽIVETJE NA TEMENICI S partnerjem imava isti dan rojstni dan, torej ga praznujeva skupaj. Pa sva si rekla, naj bo nekaj posebnega in v družbi dveh prijateljev. Amazonka v Sloveniji … in to s kajakom. Pa kaj bi si še lahko zaželeli…in smo se odpravili. In po dogovoru z gospodom Matjažem prišli v osrčje Dolenjske, k reki Temenici, seveda z rahlo mešanimi občutki, kaj nam ta avantura lahko prinese. Ja, zares prava avantura, katero smo v resnici dojeli šele po končanem dnevu in prespani noči … kaj vse nam je pričaral, ja, to je res prava beseda, pričaral gospod Matjaž, naš nadvse potrpežljivi vodič. Prava čarovnija se je začela že ob vstopu na reko, s kajaki, seveda vsi prvič in brez izkušenj. Malo strahu je bilo seveda pri nas prisotnega, ali bomo sploh znali in zmogli. O ja, po pripravi in uvodnih napotkih končno zaveslamo po tej Amazonki, odtlej za nas samo še Temenici. Ob prvih zaveslajih je strah pred prvo izkušnjo v hipu izginil. Bili smo samo še mi in reka. Prevzel nas je občutek, da smo se znašli nekje v daljni preteklosti, da smo se zlili z naravo in postali pravi amazonski raziskovalci. Za vsakim zavojem reke smo zaznavali nova in nova presenečenja, ki jih pripravlja narava… tako, kar sama…in že iskali nova, za naslednjim zavojem. In tako je čas kar prehitro minil. A ne povsem, na koncu, ob pristanku nas je pričakalo novo presenečenje. Na travniku, v neokrnjeni naravi, na obrežju reke, nam je Matjaž pričaral pravo domačo pogostitev…mnjam… kot da smo se spet znašli nekje v preteklosti, daleč od hrupnega, ponorelega sveta. In kaj hitro smo spoznali, da to ni čarovnija. To je resnica, reka Temenica je res tam, skrita v zarasli neokrnjeni naravi in tudi naš vodnik Matjaž je resničen. Pripravil nam je nepozabno in krasno avanturo. Ob taki izkušnji si človek lahko samo zaželi, da bi imel rojstni dan vsak dan. I had a brilliant day touring these ancient forests guided by Salvo, this area of Slovenia is very special. Walking the forest paths, listening and watching, I gained an immediate connection to the deep nature characteristic of the region. It felt other worldly, yet of course is the true real world as we need it, and the longer I spent the more I could relax into the sense of coming home. A special treat was Salvo calling the Ural owls from the forest whereupon they would come and sit on a tree not far and share a little of their day with us.
