Fly fishing in Slovenia – Fish & Fly TRIO – for fishing enthusiasts, uniquely combines 3 days of guided fly fishing for 3 indigenous fish species in 3 pristine Slovene rivers with 3 overnight stays, 3 local culinary experiences combined with the helicopter flight over one of the greenest European countries – Slovenia.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

It offers a fly-fishing adventure at 3 different fishing destinations, takes you to the “hidden gems” of Slovenia and sets a “triple challenge”: to catch 3 indigenous fish species within 3 days; the grayling in Kolpa River, the brown trout in Krka River and the marble trout in Soča River. Guests will have experienced guides at their disposal all the time and will be provided with accommodation and superb local culinary experiences from 3 different hospitality providers.

Even if you are not an experienced angler, you will get everything you need.

Transportation between fishing locations will also include a flight with the helicopter on the route Novo mesto – Soča Valley, which will enable you to enjoy the green Slovene nature also from the bird’s-eye view. The guest who successfully overcomes the “Triple Challenge” will receive special prize and will be listed on the »wall of fame«.

DAY BY DAY – FISH & FLY TRIO

DAY 1

Day 1 – Krka River (Brown trout – Salmo trutta fario)

We will welcome you at your pre-selected location (airport, hotel, etc.) and will take you to your first accommodation. You will meet your fishing guide and after a short introductory conversation, will go to the fly fishing. To make the experience complete, a delicious lunch prepared with local ingredients will be served at the riverbank. After lunch you will have another chance to test your fishing skills, until dusk. By the end of the first day, there is a transfer to your accommodation, dinner and a well-deserved rest.

DAY 2

Day 2 – Kolpa River (Grayling – Thymalus thymalus)

After breakfast, you will head to the second location for your second trophy. The Kolpa River will enchant you with its wild nature, its purity, and our guides will ensure you a successful fishing. You will have lunch again at the riverbank and continue fly fishing at several locations along the Kolpa River. After the last throw, you will return to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and pleasant rest.

DAY 3

Day 3 – Soča Valley (Marble trout – Salmo marmoratus)

We saved the best for last. After breakfast, you will walk a few meters, get into a helicopter, take off and admire Slovenia from a completely different perspective. You will enjoy the beautiful view of the Alps, the Triglav, and soon you will see the unforgettable Soča Valley.

After a little less than an hour of flight, you will land on the banks of the Idrijca River, a few meters from your last accommodation. You will be greeted by a fishing guide who will lead you to the ultimate success – catching a marble trout. Back at your hotel, you will enjoy your last FISH & FLY TRIO dinner with the biggest smile.
