The expert committee of Slovenian Tourist Board announced the three finalists of Snovalec 2020 – The Call for the Most Innovative Tourism Ideas – who stood out among the 44 ideas submitted. We are proud that our premium Green Adventure product, FISH & FLY TRIO, is one of them! The product is uniquely aimed at a growing number of fly-fishing enthusiasts, who search active leisure in unspoiled nature with experienced guides and superb cuisine.

The idea completely convinced the members of the expert committee, who explained their decision as follows: “The declared tourism product fills the boutique and highly lucrative segment of fishing tourism. An exclusive experience in nature, given its limited capacity, is likely to always remain prestigious with a limited number of guests. In addition to New Zealand, Alaska, Patagonia and Canada, Slovenia is one of the top five fly fishing destinations. Clean water, biodiversity and the intactness of Slovene rivers are widely untouched contribute to this. The fishing season lasts a good seven months. Fly-fisherman are demanding guests that have a significant influence on the development and improvement of the quality of gastronomic offer and other services, while extending the tourist season. Given the changing market and different consumer habits, it is expected that the Fish & Fly Trio will be very attractive tourism product after the end of the corona pamdemic.

The Commission highlights the experience on three different fishing destinations from the Kolpa River and the Krka River to many tributaries of the Soča River. It’s unique feature enables catching three different fish species – grayling, brown trout and marble trout – and offers a sport airplane ride between the included fishing destinations. With this award, we want to draw the public’s attention to the niche and often under-promoted fly-fishing tourist product, which requires significantly more skills and experience than other fishing methods. ”

In the following days, OTIS will sign an agreement with the Slovenian Tourist Board for cooperation in the field of  Slovenia’s tourist offer recognition.
